Don't Miss the Sunset

A view from my roof.

A view from my roof.

Every day there is a sunset. Depending on where you live and the weather, on most days you could probably see at least a part of it.  And yet most of us don't take the time to make it a priority.

We've got things to do, people to see, a world to change. And that's great. No one ever changed the world by sitting on a bench and watching the sunset everyday.

But that doesn't mean that we should never watch the sunset.

And I say sunset, but really I'm referring any of the beautiful, but fleeting things in life.

It could be sharing some quality time with friends, or watching a movie with a loved one, or just witnessing an actual sunset.

As we go about chasing down our passions, it can become borderline obsessive. And it has to be if we want to be any good at it.

But we also have to make sure that we don't lose sight of what we're trying to do. Often we are trying to make a better world. One new song, one built house, one fresh garden, one saved life at a time, we are trying to make a better world.

So don't miss out on the world you're trying to make better.  Don't miss the sunset. Because before you know it, the sun will dip below the horizon, darkness will set in, and you'll be wishing for just one more chance to see it.

What are the 'sunsets' in your life? What shouldn't you miss?
