What If You're Frustrated By Your Journey?

Incorporating your passions into your life can be an awesome experience. I love it when I find myself doing exactly what I envision my passions to be. I just feel a sense of purpose mixed with a drive to continue on and push further.

But what if you get frustrated before you make it to that point? What do you do to keep going?

Everyone hits that point when you just don't know what comes next. You don't know how to move over that hump and find your path forward.

I hit it on a regular basis. There are times when you can find me just staring off into the distance and not really finding what I'm looking for. It can last anywhere from a few hours to a few months.

My number one tip is this: it will pass.

I know that's not a very active way of looking at things, but it's true. The feeling of frustration, inadequacy, and boredom will pass. You can try and push through it, and sometimes that will work. But other times, it's really just about giving yourself some time and space to process and think through what's on your mind.

It could be as simple as having a conversation with people you weren't expecting to talk to. That could spark a moment of inspiration and help you work through your blocks.

Whatever you're thinking though, remember this: your frustration is not an indication of your capabilities or lack thereof.

It can be easy to tie the two together. "If I can't make it to the next step, there's no way I'm capable of making it to the end."

Lies. Each step is a critical part of your journey and unlike a video game, the hardest part isn't always at the end.

So don't give up, don't question your abilities. Just work through what you can and have patience for what you can't.
